“Self-help through joint entrepreneurship in the South” (source: cooperatives Europe)
European cooperatives engage in development cooperation because they believe in the power of cooperatives to substantially improve the quality of life of people. Cooperative development seeks to empower people and communities to develop long-term livelihood-building strategies from the outset.
In a new publication of the CEDP, Cooperatives Europe Development Platform of which Cera is one of the keymembers, these European cooperatives share their methodologies and approaches to promote and support cooperative business in the South.
This research is intended to encourage partnerships between CEDP members by highlighting each organisation’s specific expertise as well as potential synergies, and to enable external actors to better understand the advantages of international cooperative development as a successful development approach.
